Vintage mid-century oil painting on paper depicting the head of a tabby cat with wide-set eyes and an open mouth, rendered in expressive, confident brushwork. The composition isolates the animal’s face against a softly toned, warm ground, emphasizing character and expression over background detail.

Signed “Mae” and dated 1950 at lower right. Executed on paper, likely oil or oil-based paint, mounted and housed in a simple gilt-painted wooden frame, likely period. The paper shows gentle age toning and light surface wear consistent with age, handling, and display. Frame exhibits scattered finish wear and small losses.
